Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Megan Cage, LLC ("Megan Cage," "I," "me" or "my") collects, uses and shares information when you visit megancage.com, sign up for my emails, download a freebie, buy a product or contact me. It also covers the checkout and email pages I run on systeme.io for those purposes. My Substack newsletter is hosted by Substack, and Substack's own privacy policy also applies there.

2. Information you give me

• Email signups and freebies. When you request the $1K Idea Finder or another freebie, I collect your name and email address through systeme.io.
• Newsletter. When you subscribe to the Diary, Substack collects your email address and shares your subscription with me.
• Purchases. When you buy a product, I collect your name, email address, country, customer type and order details. Card payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.
• Contact form and email. When you contact me, I collect your name, email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

3. Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, my providers automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring site, approximate location and the time of your visit. Some of this is collected with cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).

4. How I use your information

• To deliver what you asked for: freebies, newsletter issues, purchases and access to products.
• To send emails you signed up for, including a short email series after you download a freebie that may invite you to explore my paid products. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To process payments, provide receipts, prevent fraud and handle support requests.
• To reply to your messages, partnership requests and collaboration inquiries.
• To understand how the site is used and improve its content and design.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and to protect my rights.

5. The services I use

I rely on a few trusted providers who process information on my behalf:

• Squarespace hosts this website and its contact form.
• systeme.io runs my freebie signups, email sequences, sales pages and checkout.
• Stripe processes card payments.
• Substack hosts the Diary newsletter and its subscriber list.
• Supascribe displays my latest Substack posts on this site.
• Google Analytics and Squarespace analytics help me understand site traffic.

Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose of providing its service.

6. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This site uses essential cookies that make it work and, with your consent where required, analytics cookies that tell me which pages people visit and how they found the site. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept, decline or manage non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice later. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out tool at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. When I share information

I do not sell your personal information, and I don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. I share it only:

• with the service providers listed above, so they can do their jobs;
• when required by law, a court order or a valid legal request;
• to protect my rights, my customers or the safety of others; or
• as part of a sale, merger or transfer of my business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

8. How long I keep it

I keep email subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. I keep purchase and payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, typically up to seven years. Contact messages are kept for as long as they're useful for replying and following up.

9. Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of the message.
• Access, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you.
• Object to or restrict certain uses, or withdraw consent you've given.
• Get a copy of your information in a portable format.

To make a request, email partnerships@megancage.com. I'll respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

10. California residents

If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information I collect and how I use it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. I don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. I won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

11. International visitors

I'm based in the United States, and my providers may store and process information in the US and other countries. By using the site, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own. Where required, my providers use recognized safeguards for these transfers.

12. Children

This site and my products are intended for adults. I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given me their information, email me and I'll delete it.

13. Security

I use reputable providers with industry-standard security, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and payment processing that never exposes your full card details to me. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I can't guarantee absolute security.

14. Links to other sites

This site links to other websites, such as Substack, Instagram and TikTok. I'm not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies when you visit them.

15. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as my business or the law changes. When I do, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or sent by email where appropriate.
